he OPFL Junior Varsity Tiger Cats this past weekend played in their 3rd away game of the season versus the Essex Ravens. The game was held at the University of Windsors Alumni Field. The Tiger Cats played a tough Essex team that capitalized on the little mistakes the Cats made through out the game. It was a tough and a hard fought battle with Ravens winning 37-23. The Cats offense had 157 yards on the ground with 192 yards in the air. The defense struggled to stop the Ravens on key situations. WEEK 1

The Junior Varsity Tigercats had their 2017 season home opener in new OPFL in a exciting match up against the Ottawa Sooners. The Sooners defense gave the Ticats some issues during this first game. The Hamilton offence lead by QB Daniel Eldridge had just two rushing TD's by Jawaun Smith and Austin Talosi in the first half. The Ticats defense held strong with a bend but don't break attitude keeping the Sooners out of the end zone in the first half. The second half started with the Sooners coming out fighting and finally broke through the stiff Ticat defense with a pass from QB Wesley Tshimanga to Rec Tyler Clostre for their only TD of the day. The speed of the Ticats defense was too much for the Sooners as they gave up 6 sacks and numerous tackles for negative yards. The Hamilton offense was able to control the ball in the 4th quarter and run out the clock for the Ticats first win in the OPFL. Head coach Nick said "He was happy for the players that they won today's game but it was only the start their journey this season".
